Someone close the hatch
Several large explosion and visit hatches have recently been manufactured by J&S Laser Profiles for a nuclear power station
The hatches have been manufactured from 10mm 316 stainless which is pushing the limits in terms of thickness.
Having asked how the hatches were manufactured it was explained that the hatches have been programmed and then lasered from 10mm 316 stainless. Once lasered the lengths were straightened, the fixing holes have been counter sunk then tack welded.
Once the tack welding had been completed and hatches had been cleaned they were then delivered to site where the client will complete the welding themselves.
